Bernie Allen
"Ethereal Love EP"
Ethereal Love is the first single from the, as yet untitled, forthcoming Bernie Allen album and it's a corker.
Driving percussion and modern production technique's provide a solid backbone for the track, with a dark and moody main riff giving way to some lush pads and a gated vocal breakdown that's a real nod to the old school of progressive trance. It's one for the LL purists and dare we say it wouldn't have sounded out of place in one of Sasha or Oakenfold's sets from 1999.
On the remix we have Adam White (Whiteroom) and Adam Dowling's new Blanka project and what a great sound these chaps make when they get together. Tight drums and a killer bass line give the first half of the track an addictive groove before flooring us with a stunningly inventive take on Bernie's original breakdown. From there the boys lead us into a killer second half with some fresh chord changes and melodies taking things up a level. With their brilliant Red Earth single forthcoming on Lost Language, we see can big things happening for Blanka.
Finishing off the package we have two exclusive tracks from the Bernie Allen vaults, Lychee and Day Blindness, both swimming in melody and packing an atmospheric punch.
