Austin, Texas based producer Peter Martin may have been relatively quiet over the past year or two but its with great pleasure that we announce his debut long-player "Truth" on Lost Language. Peter has an amazing track record of remixes for us (and others) including Sasha, Pete Lazonby and Paul Keeley. Back in the mid noughties Peter also had some great progressive originals on labels such as Armada Electronic Elements, Primal and Proton.
His album is slight change of course but the quality is impressively high. Peter ploughs a more ambient furlough on Truth, taking elements of electronica, chill, film soundtrack and ambient to create a moving patchwork of alien sound-scape sounds. Think early Amorphous Androgynous, the most sci-fi of Future Sound of London with doses of classic Warp label electronics.
If you were a film maker looking for a sound track for a Solaris meets Alien meets John Carpenter sci fi soundtrack then this whole album may well be right up your street. For the rest of us….. its one great beginning to end listening experience. Tracks such as Ambient Hero, We Mean You No Harm, Ordinary Day and The New World Order emphasis the cinematic credentials. Alongside this are amazing pieces of uplifting musicality such as Truth, At Liberty Again and No Defeat.
Yes friends, dim the lights, power up the speakers, set controls to alien worlds afar.
